Readme.txt (ok, so it's actually not a .txt file)

Dear a tribute to Operation Ivy visitors,

I've done several changes to this site, therefore to avoid crappy shits, I've decided to make this purpose/disclaimer/note/ whatever. if you wanna do something to this site, please read this page first. to go back to the previous page, click back on your browser's toolbar.

About the site

  1. The server. This site is hosted at figz.com, but the index page is at geocities. this is because if you search for the phrase operation ivy on some search engine, a tribute to operation ivy's address is http://www.geocities.com/opivy_up so i guess it should be kept that way. but since geocities has WAY too many resctrictions, then i put all the rest of the files at Figz.com (thanks to scott) which provides me more than enough space and bandwith.

  2. This site is just a fan site. Please please please, a fan site! and also, this site is a non-commercial site (that dot com means nothing). I made this site so people will know something about operation ivy, and also encounter all rumors. I don't put ads here because I don't want this site to be a commercial site.

  3. If you see any banners here, don't get it wrong, i don't get paid for it. those banners are there because of either i love the site so much, the owner of the site has done something great, or i just want to put it there.

  4. If you see something here that is yours, other words, really yours and you don't want me to have it here, please drop me an email and i'll take it down if can't get the permission.

  5. ...with that, if you are copying something from here, go ahead. It's all free (otherwise noted, like copyrights). But make sure your site is not a commercial site or shit like that. to tell you the truth, i'm happy to know people still want to dedicate some of their time for the band. If you can, i really appreciate it if you send me an email first.

  6. If you are offended by anything in this site, i'm sorry, i'm just putting up what's UP, and i made up nothing. Click here or here to see what's wrong with this world.

  7. Use the email wisely. Please don't use it to spam shit. please do NOT send me anything with AOL email.

  8. I am in no way related to Operation Ivy. I don't know Jesse, Tim, Matt, or Dave personally. I'm just another fan, just like you. Did i mention this is a fan site?

Copyrights

  1. Nothing's really copyrighted here, except a few:

  2. Fan Submitted stuffs. lately, the author(s) of the stuff didn't really care if their work is copyrighted or not, so if you see "this stuff is copyrighted by ..." that means please ask for the owner's permission (go to message board and post something, i don't care), but if there's no note, then i guess it's ok for you to use it (but please not for commercial use), and if you can, give the author some credits.

  3. Other websites' stuff, like interviews.

  4. some other stuff, if there's a copyright note, don't use it without permission.

  5. My works. Actually, if it's mine, you can take anything you please, but please don't use it for some commercial shit. i frankly don't care if you give credits or not.

Purpose of this site

  1. The reasons why i made this site are; first, i just want to spread the word about operation ivy and stop people dissing bands they know nothing about. Second, I know op ivy is popular around some ska scene, but i've seen a shitload of kids wearing op ivy hoodies without knowing what the hell they are wearing, and so, i want op ivy to be known for not that kinda reason, but because of their music and message. Third, for some people (including me), Operation Ivy is their favorite band ever, so i just want this site to be another good source for op ivy related stuff. And quarto, making web page is fun, and i love to do it (do you know this is the 8th lay out of op ivy.com?).

  2. I will always try to make this site a "human's site", meaning this site won't be a geeky mellow computerized music site. I will always speak the way i speak, talk the way i talk. So, yea, if you see some f words, don't blame anyone, blame that dude.

Helps / contributions / miscellaneous

  1. If you think you're a very good artist/writer/whatever, and wanna contribute something to this site, i will really appreciate it. Once you send me the stuff, tell me if you want it to be copyrighted or not and all the additional information (like email, name). if you later don't want your stuff to be displayed here, tell me and i'll take it off. Remember to put all things you want me to know (name, date, place, etc etc) cos I won't bother email you back to ask "what the hell is this???"

  2. Please note, that i want the original stuff.

  3. Email problems. If you sent me emails and i haven't replied it, i'm sorry. I really appreciate your emails and i always try to reply, but somehow, i don't know which one should i reply and which shouldn't. so if you put "about your site (reply)" as the subject, i definitely will reply your email. please do NOT send me anything with AOL email.

  4. About Poll suggestions, the respond was pretty high. So I'm sorry if I can't choose your question, may be next time. The way it works is that the most creative one first, then so on.

  5. Links exchange. if you want me to display your link, please please please, review your site again. not that i want something so special or anything, any site will do, but make sure it's "very good" (according to your opinion, people's opinion, and mine). whether it's about punkrock, cooking, soccer, animation, any good sites are fine. and i also prefer non-commercial site.

The bottom line of all this sheat, is that a tribute to Operation Ivy is is just a site about the band, related things, and was made so people can get some info about Op Ivy. so no more misinfo of op ivy (i think, err no one's perfect). why do i like this band? ask that question to yourself. I guess that's all, and thanks for reading this. If you have anything to say, drop me an email.

yep folks, i don't like copyright either, but no copyright doesn't mean you can steal a work from a poor webmaster. so do us all a favor, be nice, and read the readme.txt and if you want something, just ask.
